We’re Raer and yes, we take your privacy seriously, even though our jewelry doesn’t take itself too seriously. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do (and don’t do) with it. We’ve tried to keep it human-readable, because nobody enjoys a wall of legalese.

Who We Are

Raer is a jewelry and lifestyle brand registered in the Netherlands. We operate the webshop at raershop.com and are responsible for the processing of your personal data as described in this policy. You can reach us at info@raershop.com for any privacy-related questions.

What Data We Collect

We collect the following types of personal data:

Order & account data: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number, and payment information — collected when you place an order or create an account.
Newsletter data: your email address, collected when you sign up for our newsletter or claim your free first-order gift. You can unsubscribe at any time — we won’t be offended (much).
Behavioural & analytics data: information about how you use our website, such as pages visited, time spent, and clicks. This is collected via tools like Google Analytics and helps us understand what’s working (and what isn’t).
Device & technical data: your IP address, browser type, and device information, collected automatically when you visit our site.

Why We Collect It

We use your data for the following purposes:

To process and deliver your orders
To send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and customer service communications
To send you our newsletter and promotional emails — only if you’ve opted in

Who We Share Your Data With

We don’t sell your data. Ever. We do share it with a small number of trusted third parties to run our business:

Shipping carriers (e.g. DHL): your name and delivery address, so they can actually get your order to you.
Email & marketing tools: your email address and name, to send newsletters and transactional emails. These tools are GDPR-compliant and process data under a data processing agreement with us.

All third parties we work with are required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we’ve specified. No sneaky business.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We don’t hold onto your data longer than necessary:

Order data is kept for 7 years as required by Dutch tax law
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe
Analytics data is kept in anonymised or aggregated form
Account data is kept for as long as your account is active

Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: you can request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correction: you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion: you can ask us to delete your data (‘right to be forgotten’), where legally permitted.
Objection: you can object to certain types of processing, such as marketing.
Portability: you can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Complaint: if you feel we’re not handling your data correctly, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
